Awards

Three prestigious literary awards are given annually under the aegis of Dogri Sanstha.

1. Prof. Ramnath Shastri Memorial Award

The family members of Late Padmashri Prof. Ramnath Shastri , in the year 2014, instituted an annual literary award in the memory of  Prof.  Shastri, the doyen of Dogri. Prof. Ramnath Shastri Memorial Award is aimed at encouraging the new writers in Dogri, so it is given to the first published book of the author. The award carries a cheque for Rs. 21,000, a memento and a shawl. Five awards have been given so far. For details, please click here.

2. Kunwar Viyogi Literary Award

Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust , in the year 2016 , instituted Kunwar Viyogi Literary Award,  an annual literary award in the memory of renowned Dogri litterateur, editor, columnist  and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Group Captain IAF (retired) Randhir Singh Jamwal, popularly known as ‘Kunwar Viyogi’ in literary circles. Sponsored by the Trust for the promotion of Dogri language and literature, the Award  carries a cash amount of Rs. 11,000, a memento and a citation.

It is given on the best book in Dogri or translation of Dogri book in any recognised Indian language by a young Indian author whose age is below 42 years on 4th September of the year of the award. Two awards have been given so far. For details, please click here.

3. Dinu Bhai Pant Memorial Life time Achievement Award

Dinu Bhai Pant Memorial Trust, in the year 2017, instituted an annual literary award in the memory of renowned Dogri litterateur, Sh. Dinu Bhai ‘Pant’. It is a ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ and is bestowed upon a Dogri writer for his/her overall outstanding contribution to Dogri literature. The Award carries a cheque of Rs. 51,000, a medallion, a citation and a shawl. Two awards have been given so far.
