Every leaf of the calendar also presents a glimpse of some Dogra folk dance, as a backdrop. This tastefully designed calendar was released by senior members and office bearers of Dogri Sanstha in a simple function organized at Dogri Sanstha Jammu, Karan Nagar Jammu.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Lalit Magotra, President of the Sanstha spoke about the importance and significance of this calendar. He said that this is for the second year that such a calendar has been printed and is being distributed free of cost. He pointed out that spirit behind publication of such a calendar is to connect the people of Jammu to their
language, culture, heritage and roots. It is also to remind them of the great contribution of Dogri stalwarts who have enriched Dogri language and literature through their outstanding writings. He said that this is a simple but profound fact that those communities, which respect their elders who have contributed towards enriching their culture and society, stay strong and emerge successful. The calendar has been published with the liberal financial contribution of some members of writer’s fraternity and sympathizers of Dogri literature. Others who were present on this occasion
include Prof. Veena Gupta, Prof. Shashi Pathania, Dr. Chanchal Bhasin, Susheel Begana and Vijaya Thakur – office bearers of Dogri Sanstha Jammu. In addition, Pawan Verma was also present who has designed this calendar.
